In 1977 Bill Levy, president of Oak Hall Inc., started the Oak Hall Run for St. Jude. He did not know it would turn into the biggest road race in Tennessee during its time
and a favorite race for many Memphians. Between 1977 and 2001, the Oak Hall Run for St. Jude raised over 2 million for St. Jude. The race was known not only for a great way to support St. Jude but also became a favorite for the running elite in Memphis. Most years the race was held at Audubon Park adjacent to Oak Hall on Perkins Ext. and in later years at MUS after Oak Hall moved to Regalia. The Oak Hall Run for St. Jude became a community wide event enjoyed by serious athletes, weekend joggers, families, and anyone wanting to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and this year is no different.
